Bruins, Maple Sugar Trip and Spring Robin, Oh My...

Last night, Papa Swan was wonderfully given two tickets to see the Boston Bruins play against the Los Angelas Kings. The seats were awesome and Matthew got his first taste of Professional Ice Hockey right up and close, only a few rows behind the Bruins players.

I am hoping to post some pictures later of their father/son moment.

This morning we were all excited. Not only is today the First Day Of Spring, which in my mind should be a National Holiday, but it was also Matthew's Maple Sugaring Season field trip.

He will learn how the tree function changes through the seasons and observe tools used from Native American to Colonial to Modern Day and then get to taste the different tastes between the sap and the syrup.

We started the day, with a visit while waiting for the school bus, from the biggest fattest Robin on a tree branch near where we were standing. It was the only one around..and it landed near us, chirping away. I asked Mrs. (assumed pregnant already due to the size of the belly) Robin, where did you go for the winter? We were so happy to see that robin!

And so far, it is the only one around, from other friends - we are the only one's...hmmm. Sign of spring, I think so!!
